Very mixed feelings concerning the question though. Surely not scared for life (without a creepy background story it's just an uncommon "neutral" thing - and hey, maybe it even becomes something positive like "Sprinkles, the intergalactic tooth fairy" - on the other hand - I wouldn't put it in my child's room.
Besides, maxillary prognathism always makes me giggle and therefore i have to admit, the final painting's creature looks even slightly dumber > funnier to me.
Anyway - again, nice job

i love it, i think if the kid grows up with that painting, its gonna love it! that would be a cute sculpture or stuffed animal as well.
It's amazing how you paint your images. They look almost 3D.
Awesome work.
i mean it's a good painting, but for a child...maybe not. maybe change the backround to be lighter, do something else with his color and then it might be better.
hopefully the child will not get scared by it!!
